Video - All Athletes Run
I found a good video on YouTube from Under Armour describing some of the technologies they've incorporated into their running shoes. Enjoy!
I don't know about you, but to be honest, I was impressed. Now I am even more excited to start running with the Revenents.

In Search of a Running Shoe
With every new year, millions of people make New Year's resolutions. Although resolutions can vary in size and shape, most revolve around health and fitness. Like countless others, I made a goal to run more and become a better runner. Quantifiably, I set a goal to run a 5K in 25 minutes or less.
But before setting foot on the trails, I needed a new running shoe. I did already have a running shoe at home, but it just wasn't cutting it. So where and how to find an above average running shoe? While most avid runners would suggest visiting the local specialty shop, I've already done so in the past and know that I am a low-arched over-pronator. While this is arguably the best way to find a good shoe, me being a fan of Google decided to see what the interwebs had to offer.
After a couple of minutes searching Google, I found an excellent resource, Shoe Dog who will "retrieve your perfect shoes". So I answered a couple questions and let Shoe Dog do its thing. A couple seconds later the dog gave a list of shoes. Great! And now I'm off to the local shoe store to see what I can find.
To my dismay, none of the shoes on my list were in the store. What to do? Leave and buy online? Shipping to Hawaii is gonna be expensive. Leave and go to another store? But I don't wanna run all around town. Try to find a shoe in the store? So I started looking around the store. In addition to providing a list of shoes, Shoe Dog also told me what type of should I should be looking for, motion control. After talking to the salesman, he recommended the Under Armour running shoes. What? I've heard of Under Armour and their affiliations with college football, but now they are making a running shoe too?
I grabbed some of Under Armour's reading material and left the store. Back at home I jumped back on the interwebs to read reviews. Apparently the is a brand new shoe that just came out in January 2009. You know what that means? There are no reviews. But what I did find was that Under Armour is serious about performance as evident in their other products and is adamant about delivering it to the customer.
So, I went back to the shoe store and talked more with the salesman. Turns out Under Armour has 4 running shoes, 2 for neutral and 2 for stability and motion control. I was not interested in neutrality so I skipped on the Under Armour Apparition and Spectre. Instead, I decided to look more closely at the Under Armour Revenant and Illusion. The Illusion was lighter and offered more breathability but slightly less stability. On the other hand, the Revenant was slightly heavier but offered more stability. Question answered. I decided to go with the Under Armour Revenant.
And this web log will serve to review my experiences with the UA Revenant and more importantly, document the successes and failures of one of my New Year's resolutions.
Cheers!
